Programming Principles

In order to fulfill Volunteer Aid Nepal’s vision and mission, all of Volunteer Aid Nepal’s programming should conform to the following Programming Principles.

These Principles are characteristics that should inform and guide, at a fundamental level, the way we work. They are not optional. These Programming Principles are as follows:

Principle 1: Think Globally Do Locally
For the betterment of marginalized people, we mobilize National and International Volunteers for community change and empowerment. Our volunteer mobilization principle is Trickle Down but we do development and empowerment work in marginalized area with the principle of Bottom up.

Principle 2: Work with Partners
We work with others to maximize the impact of our programs, building alliances and partnerships with those who offer complementary approaches, are able to adopt effective programming approaches on a larger scale.

Principle 3: Development through Volunteerism
Development is the holistic progress of human for human. We work with the principle of development through Volunteerism. We believe that development will be sustainable if large numbers of local people get involved in developmental works as a volunteer. Local people are not only user they are also makers. By inspiring

Principle 4: Equality

Equality is our another principle. We never discriminate on the basis of sex, race, nationality, ethnicity, class, religion, age, physical ability, caste, opinion or sexual orientation on our independent Volunteer program or dependent program..

Principle 5: Promote volunteerism
Volunteerism helps to achieve our goals of community change. We suggest to all to do something at least one year of your life for the betterment of marginilized people through volunteerism.

Principle 6: Sustainability of Development
We want our efforts for Development and Empowerment is not just for short period. For the sustainability of Development, we use participatory method.

Principle 7: Putting the last first

We always work for marginalized or dis-advantaged people whoever they are.

Principle 8: Volunteer oversease / volunteer placement center

We have various community based independent volunteer program.we have aim to mobilize 700 Volunteers yearly for the betterment of last people.

All above principle are our guidelines to work for the betterment of marginalized or disadvantaged people.
