You have an opportunity to help needy children living in children’s home; children who have lost their parents, children who have been abused by their parents, and children whose parents can’t provide for their living. These children need love, attention, life skills and education so that they can have successful futures free from poverty and filled with the same opportunities as others.
As a volunteer you will be a mentor by becoming a ‘big brother’ or ‘big sister’ to kids in a children’s home. You will work alongside the local staff to help in classroom teaching and provide help with homework, childcare and the daily operational running of the home. Volunteers are also encouraged to initiate their own work by organizing arts and crafts, music, dance, games, sports activities, and day trips for the children. This role is suitable for a caring, motivated, and self-directed person who has a love for children.
The Orphanage Volunteer Program is located in major cities of Nepal such as Kathmandu and Pokhara. Volunteers will have an opportunity to help for the benefit of the children. Working in the Children’s Home is a great opportunity to share love with children and help them with homework or extra activities. Volunteers will have lots of opportunity to make a difference in the life of under-privileged children. Make the future of children brighter by providing them with love, care and the opportunity and an environment in which to learn.
Orphanage Volunteer Program :
- Based in an urban area of Nepal
- Volunteers will be placed in mixed-nationality and gender groups of 2-3
- Live in children’s home and work with the management committee as a helping hand
- Placements are in areas with facilities such as electricity, health, communication and transportation etc.
Volunteers for program must:
- There is no age limit to join this program
- No major health problems
- Eligible to obtain a tourist visa to Nepal
- General knowledge of English Language
